CCA April 2026 Meeting - Compelling Narratives: The Art of Data-Driven Storytelling

Presented by: Alice Kirchoff and Brian Browning

Numbers always tell a story, but translating that story takes skill. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll move from static reporting to dynamic storytelling. You’ll learn how to identify the "hero" in your data, use visualizations that actually stick, and turn your annual compensation cycle into a narrative that resonates with employees and senior leadership alike.

    The Fawcett Center, OSU Campus
    2400 Olentangy River Road
    Columbus, OH  43210

At our April meeting, we’re kicking off spring with a closet refresh in support of Dress for Success Columbus. We are collecting donations of items that are new and gently worn, clean, and free from odors, stains, and defects in all women's sizes. We ask ALL apparel are in-season and no more than five (5) years old. Undergarments MUST be new in the package or with new tags. Personal care items, make-up, and beauty products MUST be unopened and not expired. Currently, there is a strong need for oral hygiene products, shoes (8.5 and up), wallets, purses, pants (size 12 and up), new bras (all sizes). Your donations will help women step confidently into interviews and the workplace. Every donation makes a difference!

Alice Kirchhoff Director, Marketing - LinkedIn

Alice Kirchhoff is Bettercomp’s Marketing Director. She has worked at all sorts of companies—from a large public accounting firm to a tiny 5-person app developer— across a wide array of industries, but she’s particularly drawn to mission-driven startups that are making a difference in their customers' lives. She loves that marketing is one of the most fundamental aspects of business, and that when done well, it can help companies find the customers who will get the greatest value from their offering and educate the market so they can make informed decisions. At Bettercomp, she’s enjoyed building the marketing function from the ground up and bringing together a phenomenal team that makes a real difference in how organizations address compensation.

Brian Browning - Fractional VP of Strategy - LinkedIn

Brian Browning is the Fractional VP of Strategy at Bettercomp, helping create data-driven tools designed to support modern compensation teams. Brian is a nationally recognized expert in market data, benchmarking, and pay program design, with experience leading compensation functions for several global companies earlier in his career. Since then, Brian has advised dozens of organizations of all types—from high-growth startups to multinational enterprises—on both compensation program design and deploying technologies that together help attract, motivate, and retain talent. As a fractional executive and strategic advisor, he also brings a broad business perspective to compensation decisions, helping organizations align rewards programs with both talent strategy and financial performance.

This meeting is worth 1 credit towards recertification of WorldatWork designations. As a reminder, you must record the credit on your WorldatWork profile.
