Brennan Rees, JD, MS
Principal at Mercer
Brennan Rees is a Principal in Mercer’s Detroit office, specializing in executive and workforce compensation, annual and long-term incentive compensation and plan design, and director compensation.
Brennan’s consulting experience covers a broad range of industries with a particular emphasis on the tax-exempt sector, and more specifically, healthcare. As a specialist in the healthcare industry, Brennan regularly leads engagements that involve developing compensation/total reward strategy, assessing the competitiveness of executive, provider and Board pay, designing incentive programs, and writing opinion letters with regard to Intermediate Sanctions legislation and applicable regulations. In addition to his healthcare clients, Brennan purposefully spends time consulting in other industries, and maintains several for-profit clients, including both publicly-traded and privately-held companies.
Within Mercer, Brennan is a leader in Mercer’s Healthcare Vertical and Tax-Exempt Vertical, and regularly conducts research and develops intellectual capital for both practices.
Brennan has over 9 years of healthcare consulting experience and has been with Mercer for over five years. Prior to working at Mercer, Brennan worked in the Physician Total Compensation Consulting practice at Sullivan, Cotter and Associates, Inc.
Brennan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Spring Arbor University, Juris Doctorate from Michigan State College of Law, and Masters of Science in Business Analytics from Michigan State University.
