Pay transparency is no longer something happening somewhere else. It has arrived in Ohio. Cleveland's salary range posting requirement took effect in October 2025, Columbus begins enforcing its own ordinance on January 1, 2027, and Cincinnati and Toledo have required pay scale disclosure upon request for years. Ohio employers now face a patchwork of local rules on top of the 15-plus states with range disclosure laws, and the wave is still building: pay gap reporting is or will be required in 44 countries, led by the EU Pay Transparency Directive.

In this session, Christine Hendrickson,  SVP at Syndio and former co-chair of Seyfarth Shaw's Global Pay Equity Group will ground the global landscape, will ground the global landscape in what it means for Ohio employers, using a framework you can apply the next morning: "create something" laws that require reports and disclosures, "don't do something" laws that prohibit discrimination and pay secrecy, and emerging "fix something" laws that require employers to close gaps they cannot explain. She will then connect the law to the research showing employees forgive an imperfect number far more readily than an unexplained one.

Participants will walk away knowing what the Ohio ordinances require and when, where U.S. and global law is headed next, and a simple test to run on their own organization: when the range goes public, can you explain who sits where in it, and why?

If able, please consider bringing a toy! We will collect and donate.
