The Ohio State University seeks a self-starting Compensation Consultant experienced in delivering exceptional service to customers. The successful candidate will be an experienced compensation professional who possesses proven compensation and analytical skills.
Compensation Consultant Opportunity
The Compensation Consultant serves as the main compensation advisor for assigned colleges and business units. This person will collaborate with diverse groups of people including HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition professionals, centralized HR shared services and other colleagues to solve complex business problems requiring creative solutions in the delivery of competitive compensation programs.
The Compensation Consultant will have the opportunity to participate in the development and implementation of Career Roadmap, Ohio State’s exciting new comprehensive job family model and pay structure that will provide visibility to career paths for managers and staff to foster equitable, consistent compensation practices across the university and medical center.
Due to the transformational changes under way in HR, the Compensation Consultant participates in work to improve business processes related to the delivery of compensation services. This position is part of the Compensation Center of Expertise and in the Office of Human Resources.

The Compensation Consultant will demonstrate the ability to:
· Consult with HR Business Partners and managers on the implementation of Career Roadmap
· Support customers with job evaluations, market pricing, and compensation program administration to ensure programs meet compensation objectives and maintain market competitiveness
· Conduct moderately complex statistical analyses, data modeling and costing of pay programs for various compensation initiatives including development of proposals and recommendations as well as equity and compliance analyses
· Provide policy interpretation and guidance
· Develop and recommend business process improvements
· Remain comfortable with a high-volume workload and rapidly changing priorities in a complex and dynamic environment
· Understand and utilize technology and analytics to efficiently deliver outcomes
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required; minimum of four years of progressively responsible professional experience in the delivery comprehensive HR and compensation services; demonstrated experience working with customers on HR and/or compensation issues; strong analytical and communication skills; excellent interpersonal, oral, written and collaboration skills for communicating complex issues and perspectives to a wide range of constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
CCP, SPHR or PHR, SHRM SCP or SHRM-CP; experience in an academic environment, healthcare and/or a clinical environment and/or the public sector
The targeted hiring range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000.
